A MINISTRY TO CITIES

Jesus best decribed the evangelist's ministry in Luke 4:43, when he told his disciples, "I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent."  The evangelist is at his (or her) best when he is preaching to an entire city.   We have mistakenly believed that an evangelist is simply an itinerant minister that goes from church-to-church encouraging the saints of God and getting a few people saved along the way.  But the call of the true evangelist is much more significant than that .   The evangelist is sent to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ on a city-wide scale---calling the inhabitants of that city to repentance through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  The evangelist "proclaims" the Good News of salvation through Jesus---and God confirms the Word spoken by signs, wonders, and remarkable healings and deliverance.

A MINISTRY TO CHURCHES, RODEO ASSOCIATIONS, AND OTHER GROUPS

If every traveling ministry ever had to pastor for any length of time, he or she would understand the things that pastors go through while caring for a local church on a weekly basis.  This experience would help them "help the pastor"---rather than create controversy and hardships.   Then on the other hand, if every pastor had to operate in a traveling ministry, they would learn to understand and take care of the ministries that God sends to their church.   Dennis and Jan have traveled for several years, and they have been pastors for over a decade---so they understand BOTH sides.   Having been pastors, they fully-understand and have the highest esteem for those who "work the trenches" in local churches across America.  Dennis loves pastors, and has an intense desire to see local congregations flourish.   A part of Dennis' ministry to churches is to encourage each congregation to support the vision of their pastor and to become involved in what God is doing at the local church level.

While Dennis and Jan are at a local church they also minister to those that are hurting.   Souls are saved, bodies are healed, and lives are "put on track" with God .   The boldness of Dennis---mixed with his humor and warmness---allow him to say things that a pastor cannot say to his own congregation.   He understands his role in "injecting correction with direction" as the Holy Spirit allows.

Anywhere Dennis preaches or teaches----he brings in the heart of the soul-winner---and His passion for souls is definitely contagious.  Every church needs to be exposed to the true evangelist gift (at least periodically).   Such exposure brings in an anointing to that congregation that will otherwise be lacking. The evangelist adds a "balance" that is needed.   The evangelist is a critical element in the Body of Christ---without that element the church of Jesus cannot function in its completeness.

NO SIZE RESTRICTIONS---NO FINANCIAL DEMANDS

Dennis and Jan enjoy preaching Jesus in rented faciilites, rodeos, stadiums, or even small gatherings of people.  No congregation is too small or too large.  Paul describes his ministry as an evangelist, and the same is true for Dennis.
"Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come —that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles."    (Acts 26:22-23)

Dennis understands the financiial pressure on a young or small congregation---with respect to bringing in guest ministers.   In many cases, a pastor will neglect bringing in a needed guest minister simply due to financial restrictions. So Dennis and Jan make this decision much easier for them.   They place no demands on any congregation that feels like God is telling them to have Dennis come in to their church.   They will even travel at their own expenses if necessary.   All they ask is for a free-will offering to be received while they are there. There is no pressure on the pastor or congregation to provide more than what is freely given in any offering.  They want to be a blessing everywhere they go---never a financial burden.  They do not preach "to make a living"---they live to preach and "love on" hurting people!
